Bio

Emmanuel “Manny” Gatkek Jr. 6’8 G/F (Sam Houston State/Clarendon College): Manny is returning to USAO after spending one season at Clarendon College where he averaged 6 points per game and 3 rebounds and was one of the top shot blockers in Region Five. He also helped lead Clarendon College to a 26-3 record #6 in the country, regular season championship, and tournament Championship. They were the #1 seed heading into the NJCAA National Tournament before COVID canceled everything. He was being recruited by multiple low to mid-major Universities for his versatile play on offense and his motor defensively. He signed to play at Sam Houston State out of high school, and then transferred here to USAO where he made a huge impact and helped lead us to the Elite 8. We look for Manny to play a big part for us defensively and add more depth to our roster. He’s a highflyer and could be our X factor heading into league play.
