Drovers Continue to Scorch the Basket in Blowout Against Randall

CHICKASHA, Okla. – Saturday afternoon, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (3-1, 0-0 SAC) extended their win-streak to three in historic fashion with a 123-64 performance against Randall University (2-3, 0-0 NCCAA). The Drovers led from start to finish as they eclipsed the century mark for the second time this season. 

 

The Drovers opened the game on a 10-0 run and commanded a 65-25 lead after 20 minutes of action. In the first half, USAO shot an incredible 25-40 (.625) from the field and 9-17 (.529) from three-point range, while holding Randall to 9-30 (.300) shooting from the field and 4-17 (.235) from deep.

 

Following halftime, the Drovers continued to dominate and stretched the lead to as many as 65 with 4:05 remaining. USAO closed out the game strong and closed out the big win. 

 

 14 of the 16 players that went into the game for USAO scored at least three points and 11 different players scored at least seven points in the well-balanced offensive attack.

 

The incredibly efficient USAO offense finished the game shooting 49-82 (.598) from the field and 17-34 (.500) from deep, while Randall went 25-67 (.373) from the field and 9-38 (.273) from beyond the arc. 

USAO held a large 53-28 advantage in the rebounding battle, which included 14 offensive rebounds for the Drovers. 

The Drovers were whistled for 13 fouls, and the Saints were called for 14 infractions. USAO was went 8-12 (.667) at the free-throw line, while RU went 5-7 (.714) at the line. 

 

So far this season, USAO has been scorching hot on the offensive end, going 142-264 (.538) from the field, 42-91 (.462) from deep, and 46-58 (.793) from the free-throw line. In comparison, opponents are only shooting 106-270 (.393) from the field, 25-105 (.238 from deep, and 46-64 (.719) from the charity stripe.

Through the first four games of the season, USAO's high powered offense is averaging 93.0 points per game, while holding their opponents to 70.75.

 

Reggie Quezada headlined the USAO offense once again, scoring 23 points in only 14 minutes of action. Quezada shot 9-11 from the field and 5-6 from beyond the arc.

Anthony Ray was nearly perfect from the field, going 5-6 to finish with 12 points, along with a trio of assists. Zach Hays made his collegiate debut and made an instant impact, contributing 11 points on 5-7 shooting from the field, and grabbed five rebounds in 16 minutes on the court.

Lendy Holmes also made his season debut and recorded career-highs of nine points and five rebounds. 

Five different Drovers concluded the win with eight points; Manny Gatkek, Rory Pantophlet, Jayden Patcha, Logan Dolan, and Niieihii BlackBear.

Jaden Causwell finished with seven points, followed by Cejay Mann with six points in addition to four assists. Ryein Kennedy scored five points and grabbed four rebounds in his collegiate debut. Cade Allen recorded three points and two rebounds in six minutes off the bench. Tre Edwards dished out five assists in 12 minutes.

Jaden Harrell delivered one of the most spectacular scoreless performances in program history and was only one rebound shy of a double-double as he closed the game with a career-high of 12 assists, along with nine boards. Harrell's 12 assists is tied for the fourth most in a single game in program history. 

 

Speaking of historic performances, the Drovers tied a program record for most assists by the team in a single game with 34, a feat that was previously accomplished in 2000 against SAGU. Additionally, USAO's 123 points was the third most that they have ever scored in a game and their 49 field goals is also the third most in program history. 17 three-pointers is tied for the fifth most in a game.
