CHICKASHA, Okla. – Saturday night, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (4-2-3, 0-1 SAC) opened conference play with a tough 1-0 loss against John Brown University (6-2-1, 1-0 SAC). In head-to-head matchups, the Drovers hold a 21-17-1 advantage in the all-time series, dating to 2000.

Following an evenly matched, and scoreless first half, the second half began with more of the same. In the 69th minute, the Golden Eagles finally broke the scoreless tie with the eventual game-winning goal. The Drovers were unable to strike for the equalizer in the final minutes, thus suffering only their second loss of the season.

The Golden Eagles were whistled for only eight fouls, while the Drovers committed 15 infractions. Furthermore, the physical contest featured six yellow cards, four issued to USAO and two to JBU. The Drovers attempted four corner kicks, while holding the Golden Eagles to only one kick out of their offensive corners.
