#21 USAO Concludes in a Tie at OPSU

GOODWELL, Okla. – Friday afternoon, the No. 21 ranked University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (7-2-5, 2-0-3 SAC) stretched their unbeaten streak to ten games with a 1-1 tie on the road at Oklahoma Panhandle State University (5-4-1, 2-2-1 SAC). In head-to-head matchups, the Drovers are 6-0-1 against the Aggies in the all-time series, dating to October 2019.

Following a scoreless first half, the Drovers claimed the lead in the 75th minute as Paula Casajus scored her seventh goal of the season, off a crossing pass from Chiara Morel. However, the Aggies responded with the equalizer led than five minutes later. Neither team was able to crack the tie in the final minute, thus resulting in a draw.

As a team, USAO attempted a total of 17 shots, with seven being on goal, while OPSU attempted four shots, only two of which were on frame. The Aggies were whistled for seven fouls, while the Drovers committed only two infractions. OPSU had one corner-kick, in comparison to USAO's 11 attempts out of the offensive corners.

Ashlyn Lonberg got the start between the pipes for USAO and stopped one of the two shots that came her way, moving her career record to 32-5-6 at USAO.

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Drovers will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 18 as they host Wayland Baptist University. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM CT at McLaughlin Field.
