Drovers Produce Fourth Shutout of the Season on the Road at Central Christian

MCPHERSON, Kan. – Tuesday evening, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (6-5-4, 2-4-1 SAC) got back on track with an impressive 3-0 shutout win on the road at Central Christian College (2-10-3, 2-4-1 SAC). In head-to-head matchups, the Drovers own an 8-2-1 advantage against the Tigers since November 2019.

After multiple scoring chances in the opening minutes, the Drovers finally struck twine in the 17^th minute as Matija Malenovic put away a rebound for his 11^th goal of the season. USAO maintained the one-goal advantage for the remainder of the half.

Following halftime, the Drovers quickly doubled the lead as Thato Lekgetho intercepted a pass from the goalkeeper and buried his fifth goal of the season, just two minutes into the second half. USAO added insurance in the 88^th minute as Gustav Rosenqvist scored his second goal of the season.

As a team, USAO attempted a total of 30 shots, with 12 being on goal, while CCC attempted five shots, only one of which were on frame. Both teams were whistled for 13 fouls. Central Christian had zero corner-kicks, in comparison to USAO's 13 attempts out of the offensive corners.

Angel Diaz got the start between the pipes for USAO and stopped the only shot that came his way, to earn his 12^th career shutout, and moves to 21-16-12 as a Drover.

The Drovers will return home for Senior Night on Saturday, Oct. 25 as they host Southwestern Christian University. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM CT at McLaughlin Field.
