CHICKASHA, Okla. – Tuesday night, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (5-3-4, 1-2-1 SAC) delivered a stellar defensive performance in a 0-0 tie against Oklahoma City University (8-3-2, 2-0-2 SAC). In head-to-head matchups, the Drovers hold a 15-11-3 advantage in the all-time series, dating to 2007.
The defensive battle was played mostly in the midfield, as a total of three shots were put on goal (1 USAO, 2 OCU). The Drovers attempted six shots, compared to the Stars' 10 attempts. The Stars were whistled for only nine fouls, while the Drovers committed 16 infractions. Furthermore, the physical contest featured five yellow cards, three for USAO and two for OCU. The Drovers attempted five corner kicks, while holding the Stars to only two kicks out of their offensive corners.
Angel Diaz got the start between the pipes for USAO and stopped both of the shots that came his way, to earn his 11thcareer shutout, and moves to 20-14-12 as a Drover.
