USAO Plays to a Draw at Texas A&M University San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Monday afternoon, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (2-0-2, 0-0 SAC) remained unbeaten with a 1-1 draw on the road at Texas A&M University San Antonio (0-0-1, 0-0 RRAC). 

 

Following a scoreless first half, the Drovers struck first as Thato Lekgetho scored his first goal of the season, assisted by Thiago Fasano. The Jaguars pulled the score even in the 72nd minute, prior to neither team being able to break the tie in the final minutes of regulation.

 

As a team, USAO attempted 17 shots, with seven being on goal, while TAMUSA attempted eight shots, three of which were on target. The Jaguars were whistled for eight fouls, while the Drovers committed 17 infractions. USAO attempted four corner kicks, while TAMUSA had just one attempt out of their offensive corners.

 

Angel Diaz got the start between the pipes for USAO and stopped two of the three shots he faced to move his record to 17-12-10 at USAO. 

 

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Drovers will now return to McLaughlin Field to host a non-conference matchup against Tabor College (Kan.) on Thursday, Sept. 4. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM CT.
