Malenovic Scores NAIA-Leading Fifth Goal as Drovers End in Tie at OLLU

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Saturday afternoon, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (2-0-1, 0-0 SAC) secured a 1-1 draw on the road at Our Lady of the Lake University (1-1-1, 0-0 RRAC).

 

Saturday's contest began with 31 minutes of scoreless action, but the Drovers were able to grab the lead on Matija Malenovic's fifth goal of the season. Malenovic is now tied for the NAIA-lead in goals so far in 2025.

 

Following halftime, the Drovers maintained the one-goal lead, but the Saints were able to rally late and scored the equalizer with only five seconds remaining in the game.

 

 

As a team, USAO attempted 14 shots, with seven being on goal, while OLLU attempted eight shots, three of which were on target. The Saints were whistled for 16 fouls, while the Drovers committed 13 infractions. USAO attempted 11 corner kicks, while OLLU had just two attempts out of their offensive corners.

 

Angel Diaz got the start between the pipes for USAO and stopped two of the three shots he faced to move his record to 17-12-9 at USAO.

The Drovers will wrap up their trip in San Antonio on Monday, Sept. 1 as they face Texas A&M University San Antonio at 11:00 AM CT.
