Drovers Win Big on the Road at Tabor College

HILLSBORO, Kan. – Tuesday night, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (2-1-1, 0-0 SAC) got back in the win column with a thrilling 4-0 victory at Tabor College (0-1, 0-0 KCAC). The Drovers have been very impressive so far this season, but they've been especially spectacular over the last three games, outscoring opponents by a wide margin of 11-2.

USAO got off to an early start as Matija Malenovic scored his second goal of the season, off an assist from Justin Croke in only the third minute of the contest. However, after the quick start neither team was able to find the back of the net for the remainder of the first half.

Following the break, the USAO offense caught fire, scoring a trio of goals in the final 45 minutes of regulation. Dani Suarez struck for the second goal of the game, off an assist from Angelo Leendertse, quickly followed by a strike from Darko Borisavljevic, assisted by Justin Croke and Matija Malenovic. Justin Croke scored the final goal of the game on a free-kick from 35-yards outside the box with less than 17 minutes remaining in the game.

As a team, USAO put seven of their eight shot attempts on goal, while Tabor put five of their nine shots on target. 

Angel Diaz stopped all five shots that he faced to earn his first shutout of the season. Furthermore, he improved his record to 2-1-1, with only four goals against. 

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Drovers will return home for Alumni Day on Saturday, September 2 as they host Ottawa University (Kan.). The women's game is scheduled to kick-off at 5:00 PM, followed by the men's game at 7:30 PM.
