USAO’s Season Comes to an End Against #21 Langston

LANGSTON, Okla. – Saturday afternoon, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (10-18, 8-16 SAC) suffered an 88-74 loss in the season finale at No. 21 ranked Langston University (21-7, 17-7 SAC). 

The Lions got off to a red-hot start and controlled a 19-11 lead midway through the first half. Langston went on to take a 41-34 lead into halftime. 

Following the break, the Lions continued to control the pace and outscored the Drovers 47-40 in the second half, wrapping up the win in the regular season finale.

USAO's offense closed the game shooting 20-42 (.476) from the field, 9-19 (.474) from beyond the arc, and 25-33 (.758) from the free-throw line. In comparison, Langston shot 30-61 (.492) from the field, 10-19 (.526) from deep, and 18-22 (.818) from the charity stripe. 

The Drovers scored 22 points in the paint and hauled in only 18 rebounds. In comparison, the Lions scored 34 points in the paint and grabbed 41 rebounds. 

USAO committed nine turnovers, which led to 12 points for LU. Meanwhile, the Lions fumbled the ball 10 times, resulting in nine points for the Drovers.

USAO was whistled for 15 fouls, while Langston was called for 25 violations.

Three different Drovers scored in double figures, led by Ryein Kennedy with 21 points on 5-7 shooting from the field and 8-10 at the free-throw line. Mohand Ammad contributed 19 points, followed by Cade Allen with 12. 

Manny Gatkek concluded with nine points, while Tyler Cauley added seven points, four rebounds, and four assists.

Jaden Harrell closed with three points, trailed by Lendy Holmes with two, and Tatum Ridge with one. 

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Drovers will now prepare for the 2025-26 season, beginning in October.
