Drovers Earn Bronze at Winter Creek
BLANCHARD, Okla. – On Monday and Tuesday, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma women's golf team hosted the Battle at Winter Creek and earned an impressive third-place finish. The Drovers played tough against some tough competition, including No. 5 ranked Texas Wesleyan, No. 10 Oklahoma City, and RV Our Lady of the Lake. Furthermore, No. 7 ranked Blinn College (NJCAA) competed and earned their third win of the fall so far. No. 8 ranked Redlands CC (NJCAA) also competed in the tournament.
The Battle at Winter Creek was competed at Winter Creek Golf and Social Club, and featured a 5,863-yard, par 72 layout. The Drovers completed with a three-round score of 939 (310, 319, 310).
Hudson Woloss led the Drovers with a tremendous fourth place finish, after firing a three-round total of 225 (76, 75, 74). Amy Reavis also earned a top 10 finish, closing in a tie for ninth with a score of 232 (80, 79, 73).
Miah Luong concluded in 16th after carding a 241 (76, 84, 81), trailed by Addesen Glass and Katelynn Powell in a tie for 24th, and Alix Schueneman in a tie for 26th. Glass and Powell shot identical scores of 248, and Schueneman shot a 249. Moriah Shropshire closed in 32nd with a 252 (78, 92, 82).
This has been the best start to the season in program history, having finished fourth-place or better in all four tournaments so far, including a team win at the Southwestern Christian Invitational.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Drovers will return to action on Oct. 20-21 as they compete at the Midwestern State Invitational at Wichita Falls Country Club, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
