Johnson and Davlakou Deliver Historic Performances as USAO Wins by 50 at Central Christian

MCPHERSON, Kan. – Saturday afternoon, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (7-1, 4-0 SAC) remained perfect in conference play with a commanding 88-38 victory on the road at Central Christian College (4-7, 0-5 SAC). The Drovers improve to 17-0 against the Tigers in head-to-head matchups since December 2017. 

Saturday's win was highlighted by a couple of historic performances, including Pashonnay Johnson tying a program-record with eight three-pointers and Evangelia Davlakou's triple-double. 

 

The Drovers were in control from the start and opened the game by outscoring the Tigers 22-10 in the opening quarter. USAO completely dominated the second quarter, outscoring Central Christian 31-7, to take a 53-17 advantage into the break.

Pashonnay Johnson delivered a historic first half, shooting 7-8 from the field, including 6-7 from three-point range for a total of 20 points.

Following halftime, the game was much more competitive with USAO narrowly outscoring Central Christian by a 17-13 margin. The Drovers took a 40-point advantage (70-30) into the final 10 minutes of the game.

USAO put the game away by outscoring CCC 18-8 in the fourth quarter to wrap up the 50-point win.

 

USAO's offense closed the game shooting 30-59 (.508) from the field, 14-22 (.636) from beyond the arc, and 14-15 (.933) from the free-throw line. In comparison, Central Christian shot just 14-63 (.222) from the field, 5-30 (.167) from deep, and 5-6 (.833) from the charity stripe. 

The Drovers scored 30 points in the paint and hauled in 44 rebounds. In comparison, the Tigers scored 16 points in the paint and grabbed 35 rebounds. 

USAO committed 12 turnovers, which led to five points for Central Christian. Meanwhile, the Tigers fumbled the ball 20 times, resulting in 26 points for the Drovers.

USAO was whistled for 14 fouls, while CCC was called for 17 violations.

 

Four different Drovers score in double figures, led by Pashonnay Johnson's season high of 26 points. Johnson shot 9-13 from the field and 8-11 from three-point range, becoming just the fourth player in program history to knock down eight three's in a game.

Evangelia Davlakou produced her first career triple-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. 

Jordyn Rollins was incredibly efficient offensively, scoring a season-high of 20 points on 7-8 shooting from the field, including 3-4 from deep, as well as 3-3 at the free-throw line. 

Chaniya Felton contributed 12 points on 4-7 shooting and she stole the ball three times on defense. 

Ti'Alone Banks closed with seven points and six rebounds, while Hannah Harris added five points and nine rebounds. Trinity Humphrey scored four points and grabbed a pair of boards.

The Drovers will now head to Point Lookout, Mo. To face College of the Ozarks on Thursday, December 11. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM CT.
