Drovers Win Big Against Central Christian
CHICKASHA, Okla. – Monday evening, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (10-7, 8-5 SAC) looked impressive as they cruised to an 80-57 triumph against Central Christian College (2-13, 0-11 SAC). With the win, the Drovers improve to 15-0 against the Tigers all-time, dating to December of 2017.
Central Christian jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter, but the Drovers responded well and owned a 24-9 advantage after 10 minutes of action. The Drovers continued to dominate in the second quarter, outscoring the Tigers 24-13 to take a 48-22 lead into halftime.
Following the break, Central Christian began to knock down shots and mildly cut into USAO's lead. The teams traded baskets in the third quarter, with USAO narrowly outscoring CCC 22-20, giving the Drovers a 70-42 lead going into the fourth. The Tigers attempted to claw their way back into the game, outscoring the Drovers 15-10 in the final minutes of action, but it was much too little, too late for the visitors from Kansas.
USAO's offense closed the game shooting 24-55 (.436) from the field, 4-15 (.267) from beyond the arc, and 28-36 (.778) from the free-throw line. In comparison, Central Christian shot 20-64 (.313) from the field, 8-31 (.258) from deep, and 9-16 (.563) from the charity stripe.
The Drovers scored 34 points in the paint and hauled in 50 rebounds. In comparison, the Tigers scored 22 points in the paint and grabbed 32 rebounds.
USAO committed 22 turnovers, which led to six points for CCC. Meanwhile, the Tigers fumbled the ball 26 times, resulting in 29 points for the Drovers.
USAO was whistled for 17 fouls, while Central Christian was called for 25 violations.
The Drovers used a well-balanced attack to overwhelm the Tigers, with nine of their ten players scoring five points or more in the win. Alexia Corrales once again led the way for the Drovers, contributing 15 points, eight rebounds, six steals, and a pair of blocks. Evangelia Davlakou concluded with 14 points, four points, and four assists. Ashley Gonzalez scored 12 points in 21 minutes off the bench.
Hannah Harris provided eight points, nine rebounds, and a pair of steals, followed by Jasmine Villarreal and Caroliena Diaz with seven points each.
Davielis Berroa concluded with six points and a season-high of 11 rebounds, while Franka Kraus added six points and three boards.
Devynn Harris closed with five points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Madison Hays added a pair of assists and four steals.

The Drovers will return to action on Thursday, January 16 as they travel to Southwestern Christian University for a double-header. The women's game is scheduled to tip-off at 6:00 PM CT, followed by the men's game at 7:45 PM CT.
