Wallis Joins OKC Spark Coaching Staff

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – USAO Head Softball Coach Jadyn Wallis will be joining the Oklahoma City Spark as the Pitching Coach for the team's first season of play, during the summer of 2023. Wallis will remain at the helm for the Drovers, while assisting with the Spark, which is an incredible professional opportunity for Coach Wallis, and it offers a great amount of exposure to the Drover Softball program.

The Oklahoma City Spark are part of Women's Professional Fastpitch (WPF) league in the United States and will be competing in their inaugural season in 2023. The team's roster features some of the best players in fastpitch softball, including USA Softball's Jocelyn Alo, Keilani Ricketts, and Michelle Moultrie.

Wallis became the USAO softball coach prior to the 2013 season, and in that time, she has built the Drovers into a softball powerhouse. During Wallis' time at the helm, she has a 461-141 win-loss record, 2018 NAIA National Championship, one NAIA National Coach of the Year award, four SAC Coach of the Year awards, four SAC Championships, seven NAIA National Tournament appearances, and achieved the longest win streak in NCAA and NAIA history (59 games in 2018-2019 seasons). Wallis has also led the Drovers to a pair of Third-Place finishes at the NAIA Softball World Series (2019, 2021).

Under her direction, the program has produced three NAIA Pitcher of the Year, one NAIA National Championship MVP, three SAC Player of the Year award winners, seven SAC Pitcher of the Year award winners, 86 All-SAC selections, and 15 NAIA All-Americans.

Wallis has produced winning teams in each of her 11 seasons, including three seasons in which the team reached the 50-win plateau. The Drovers own a .766 win percentage under Wallis' lead. Wallis has always had well rounded teams at Science & Arts but her pitching staff's have been among the best in the NAIA over the last 10 seasons, producing a team earned run average of 1.95, a 435-115 win-loss record, and they have struck out a whopping 3,369 batters in 3,542 innings over that time.

Wallis, a native of Newcastle, and played collegiately at the University of Oklahoma under legendary coach Patty Gasso. Wallis pitched for the Sooners from 2005-2008 where she had a career record of 9-4 in 57 appearances, with 10 starts. She pitched a total of 110.1 innings and struck out 84 batters. The Sooners as a team combined for a 192-60 record (.773) winning percentage during that time.

Wallis graduated from OU in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in sociology. She returned to her hometown and was an assistant coach at Newcastle High School in 2009 and 2010. She later served as an assistant coach at Oklahoma Baptist University in 2011 and 2012 before joining the USAO program.
