Trio of Drovers Claim Bronze at SAC Championship
WAXAHACHIE, Texas –Friday and Saturday, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma competed at the Sooner Athletic Conference Championship and earned an eighth-place finish as a team.
The men's team was highlighted by a trio of third place finishes, including the 4x100-meter relay team, crossing the finish line in 41.62 (Tyrike Cunningham, Omario Johnson, Aarin Simon, and Crispin Mbii). Omario Johnson placed third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.59. Andries Meyer finished third in the 3000-meter steeplechase with an impressive time of 10:22.02.
The 4x400 meter relay team crossed the line in fourth with a time of 3:26.16 (Tyrike Cunningham, Aarin Simon, Andries Meyer, Hunter DeWall).
Andries Meyer placed fifth in the 800-meter race, crossing the line in 1:58.75, as well as an eighth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles (1:17.55).
Crispin Mbii finished fourth in the 200-meter dash (21.84), fifth in the javelin (44.29 meters), and earned a top 10 finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.73.
Mason Potter finished fourth in discus (42.81meters), and concluded in 10th place in the shot put, with a toss of 12.14 meters.
