Meyer Earns Silver at SAC Championships

FORT WORTH, Texas – On Friday and Saturday, the USAO track and field team competed at the 2025 Outdoor Track and Field Championships, and numerous program records were broken at the event.

 

Andries Meyer highlighted the men's performances, claiming second place in the 3000-meter steeplechase, with a time of 10:15.30. Meyer also competed in the 1500-meter race, finishing in 13th with a time of 4:20.18. On Saturday, Meyer finished in ninth place in the men's 800-meter run (1:58.94). He then placed ninth in the 400-meter hurdles as well (1:07.57).

Mason Potter placed fifth in the men's discus throw, tossing the disc 40.06, followed by Chayce Papp in 15thplace. On Saturday, Potter finished in eighth in the men's shot put, with a throw of 12.41 meters. Papp followed in ninth place with a throw of 11.29 meters.

The men's 4x100 relay team finished in sixth place with a time of 41.79, comprising of Omario Johnson, Crispin Mbii, Tyrike Cunningham, and Quintin Pennells. The men's 4x400 relay team finished in ninth place (3:33.05).

Quintin Pennells and Tyrike Cunningham each competed in the 400-meter dash, with Pennells placing in 16th (50.83) and Cunningham placing in 23rd (55.11).

In the men's 100-meter dash, Quintin Pennells led the way with a 17th place finish (10.90), followed by Crispin Mbii in 23rd (10.97). Daylen Huff concluded in 28th (11.06), and Hunter DeWall placed in 35th (11.44).

The 200-meter dash was led by Pennells in 13th place (21.84), trailed by Daylen Huff in 21st (22.12). Tyrike Cunningham closed in 29th place (22.80), just ahead of Hunter DeWall in 32nd (23.06).

 

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Drovers will return to action on Friday, May 9 as they compete at the OBU Last Chance Meet in Shawnee, Okla.
