BETHANY, Okla. – Saturday afternoon, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (5-5-4, 2-2-2 SAC) played to a scoreless tie on the road at Southwestern Christian University (5-4-3, 1-2-3 SAC). The Drovers are now 6-3-6 against the Eagles all-time, dating back to October of 2013. Furthermore, the conference rivals have played to a draw in five of their last seven meetings since 2020.
Neither team was able to find the back of the net in Saturday's evenly contested matchup.
As a team, USAO attempted 10 shots, with six being on goal, while SCU attempted only six shots, two of which were on target. The Eagles were whistled for eight fouls, while the Drovers committed 11 infractions. USAO attempted three corner kicks and SCU had four attempts out of the offensive corners.
Angel Diaz was perfect between the pipes for USAO, stopping both shots that came his way, earning his fifth shutout of the season. Diaz ranks first in the Sooner Athletic Conference in saves (53) and save percentage (.768).
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Drovers will return to the pitch for SENIOR DAY on Tuesday, October 22 as they play a double-header against Central Christian College. The women are scheduled to kick-off at 5:00 PM CT, followed by the men's game at 7:30 PM CT at McLaughlin Field.
