Orsi Promoted to Associate Head Coach for Men’s Soccer
CHICKASHA, Okla. – On Thursday, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma announced the promotion of Tony Orsi to Associate Head Coach of the men's soccer team. Orsi has been on the USAO coaching staff since 2007 and has helped lead the men's soccer team to an incredible win-loss record of 229-94-18 (.672). Throughout his 17 seasons, the Drovers have claimed 10 Sooner Athletic Conference championships (regular season and tournament), and they have made seven appearances in the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship tournament.
He has also served as the head coach of the men's soccer reserve team, and he led the Drovers to the first ever SAC Championship for men's soccer reserve teams.
In addition to his experience at USAO, Orsi was the assistant coach for Oklahoma City FC (PDL/NPSL | 2012-13) and assistant coach for the Oklahoma Alliance FC (WPSL | 2008-11).
Prior to beginning his coaching career, Orsi was an all-conference student-athlete and team captain at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (NCAA Div II). He graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in health/PE/Safety.
When asked about the promotion Orsi said, "I am very excited to take on this new role. USAO Men's Soccer is a special program and I'm grateful to be a part of it. As I start my 18th season working with Coach Hampton and the Drovers, I'm as excited as I was in my first season. I would like to thank President Hale, Athletic Director Mike Ross, and Coach Hampton for their continued support."
