Drovers Suffer First Loss Against SCU Since 2017

CHICKASHA, Okla. – Saturday night, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (4-6-3, 0-3-1 SAC) was dealt a tough 1-0 defeat against Southwestern Christian University (3-6-1, 2-2 SAC). The loss against the Eagles is the first for the Drovers since 2017. 

 The Eagles managed to capture an early lead with a goal in the 19^th minute of the first half. Neither team was able to score for the remainder of the first half and SCU took a one-goal advantage into halftime. 

Following the break, the Drovers created several scoring chances and hit the posts multiple times but were unable to score the equalizer and SCU clung to a 1-0 victory.

As a team, USAO attempted 13 shots, with four being on goal, while SCU attempted six shots, with three being on target. The Drovers were whistled for 14 fouls, while the Eagles committed 17infractions.

The Drovers will return to McLaughlin Field on Saturday, October 14 as they host Wayland Baptist University. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:30 PM CT.
