Ellis Leads Drovers to Third Place Finish at Texas Wesleyan Spring Invitational
WILLOW PARK, Texas – On Monday and Tuesday, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma men's golf team earned an impressive third-place finish at the Texas Wesleyan Spring Invitational, led by a top five individual finish from Jaeden Ellis.
The tournament was competed at Squaw Creek Golf Course and featured a 6859-yard, par 71 layout. The Drovers completed with a three-round score of 859 (291, 283, 285). The tournament featured a star-studded field, including five teams ranked or receiving votes in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll (No. 1 Oklahoma City, No. 7 Texas Wesleyan, No. 24 Houston-Victoria, RV USAO, RV Southwestern Christian).
Jaeden Ellis concluded in fifth place with as he carded a 210 (71, 68, 71). Luca Gisler and Cooper Hardison cracked the top 20, with Gisler placing 12th, followed by Hardison in 17th. Gisler carded a 216 (72, 73, 71), and Hardison scored a 218 (73, 75, 70).
Tate Trotter closed in 21st with a total of 219 (75, 71, 73). Tucker McDonald and Conner Cryer finished in a tie for 24th with identical scores of 221.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Drovers now head into the postseason as they compete at the Sooner Athletic Conference Championship at Twin Hills Country Club in Oklahoma City on April 28-29.
